What is Reiki?
Reiki is energy work that empowers you to heal yourself. That means we work together on your healing journey. This is a partnership.
I’ll help you uncover and face the hard questions you need to answer.
With Reiki, you’ll grow and evolve. The issues you face a week from now should be different from the issues you face a year from now.
What Reiki Isn’t
A magic fix. A snap of my fingers. A wave of a wand.
What to expect
Before Your Session
There’s not much to do before your Reiki session. Really, you just need to show up! I’ve had clients show up grounded and zen while others whirl in, frazzled and emotional. As long as you’re open to the process, you’ll take something away from your session.
During Your Session
We’ll have a quick chat before your Reiki session. This is a great time to bring up any concerns you have - physical, emotional, personal, professional, soulful, spiritual. And if you’re not comfortable sharing some of them, that’s fine! Just think on them quietly. After your session, you’ll be amazed how frequently your concerns coincided with some of your energetic blockages!
During your reiki session, you’re fully clothed on a comfy table. I use sage, crystals, aromatherapy, some sound healing and my hands to clear your energetic fields. To an outside observer, it looks like I’m pushing, pulling and swiping my hands over you (i.e. your energetic field, commonly referred to as aura’s). If your energy calls for it, I may gently lay hands on you. You may feel heat from the movements. That’s the energy clearing at work!
It’s normal to feel emotional or physical releases during and after your reiki session. Think about it: we start bottling up our emotions, thoughts, hopes, dreams and fears when we’re young. That’s a lot of pent-up pressure. So, it feels uncomfortable when it rushes out. But don’t worry - the feeling
passes!
After Your Session
The best thing you can do after a session is be good to yourself. Drink lots of water, rest, take a bath, sit in nature. Tune in to what your body’s saying. You don’t have to do anything. Just observe.
It’s also normal to notice some digestive changes, both “blocking up” and “releasing.”
I always follow up with you a few days after your session, just to see how you’re doing and to go over the recommendations we may have discussed at your session. I am an ongoing resource for anything that may come up either days, weeks, or years after your energy session(s)
Who it’s for (and not for)
Reiki is powerful tool. It is NOT a religion nor does it require any sort of devotion other than to one's self. I have clients that attend church every sunday and those that forgo church for a drum circle. Anyone can use it and reap the benefits. But, you’ll get the most out of it if you’re willing to open yourself up to the process. I know energy work may sound unusual to some of you (while others of you know your chakras forwards and backwards). The key to a fruitful Reiki session is arriving with an open mind.
If you’re looking for a quick fix or someone to “prove” this energy healing to you, then you’re probably not ready for a Reiki session.
What it does
There’s no one-solution-fits-all when it comes to Reiki. Some people use it for emotional blockages, others for physical pain. It’s brought my clients insights on work, relationships, family, personal development, finding purpose, finding passion, stress management an more. Consider this a workout for your energetic circulatory system.
